Lee van der Voo is an award-winning investigative and environmental journalist. Her reporting has been supported by significant awards and fellowships, including the Logan Nonfiction fellowship, the Alicia Patterson Foundation Fellowship, the Fund for Investigative Journalism, an Investigative Reporters and Editors Award, and the Lizzie Grossman Grant for Environmental Health Reporting. She is the author of two books. The first, The Fish Market, chronicled the privatization of the sea in the name of sustainable seafood and was the 2018 winner of the Oregon Book Award for General Nonfiction. Lee is deeply involved in nonprofit news and is a co-founder of the Oregon News Exploration.
