Uchida is Brazilian Journalist based in the Amazon Rainforest. Born in São Paulo, he built his career working in several different countries like Cuba, Ethiopia, Namibia, Germany, USA, etc. Over the years, Uchida transitioned to producing projects that shed light on underrepresented stories in the Amazon region. Since 2016 his work is focused on topics around environment, indigenous issues, human rights or climate and has been featured in over 120 international film festivals and published on major outlets such as BBC, The Economist, Vice, Al Jazeera and The Intercept - mostly under pseudonyms for safety reasons. Uchida's last documentary film "The Territory" was shortlisted for the Oscars 2023 and won over 25 prizes including the Sundance World Cinema Special Jury Award and the Sundance Audience Award.
