Esther Kaplan is a veteran journalist and investigations editor at Insider. As a newsroom leader at Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting and at Type Investigations, she oversaw projects that led to criminal indictments, Congressional hearings, federal investigations, and legislation. Investigative projects she's overseen have been recognized with the Emmy, National Magazine Award, Peabody, duPont, Scripps-Howard Award, and Investigative Reporters & Editors Medal, among other honors. She was previously an editor at The Nation, Poz, and The Village Voice, and a radio host at WBAI. Her writing on labor, politics, and social movements has appeared in Harpers, The Nation, and other outlets. She is the author of With God on their Side, about the Christian right’s involvement in national politics.
