Robert Blau is Executive Editor for Investigations at Bloomberg News, overseeing an award-winning global team of reporters and editors, and the work they produce in print, video and audio. He arrived at Bloomberg in 2008 after a career spent largely in newspapers. At the Chicago Tribune, Blau worked in a variety of roles, from back-up movie reviewer for Gene Siskel, to investigative reporter and Associate Managing Editor, shepherding a broad spectrum of projects, including a multi-year probe of the failure-prone criminal justice system in Illinois. He was named Managing Editor of the Baltimore Sun in 2004. Blau served on the Pulitzer Prize Board from 2011-2020, twice as its co-chair. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Nieman Foundation at Harvard. And he is the author of the memoir, “The Cop Shop.”
