Dilan Gohill

Dilan Gohill is a news staff writer and desk editor at The Stanford Daily, where he specializes in student activism coverage and newsroom development. Dilan also serves as a Content and Innovation Strategy intern at The Los Angeles Times, where he works on alternative revenue streams and learning initiatives to help sustain and reimagine local journalism.In June 2024, while covering a pre-dawn pro-Palestine student occupation at Stanford, Dilan was arrested while engaging in constitutionally protected newsgathering. Despite clearly identifying himself as a journalist and wearing press credentials, Dilan was arrested and booked on suspected felony charges. The incident sparked national backlash and drew support from over two dozen press freedom organizations. For his coverage, Dilan received the SPJ NorCal’s 2025 Golden Sledgehammer Award.
