Mukhtar M. Ibrahim is a digital media entrepreneur and journalist.

He's the founder, publisher, and CEO of Sahan Journal, a nonprofit digital news organization dedicated to covering Minnesota’s immigrants and communities of color.

Mukhtar has won numerous recognitions and awards for his achievements as a business leader and media entrepreneur.

Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal recognized Mukhtar as a “40 Under 40” honoree for his achievements and contributions to the Twin Cities business community. He received the "Above the Fold" award, which honors alumni of the University of Minnesota Hubbard School of Journalism & Mass Communication under the age of 40 who have made exceptional contributions to their fields. Mukhtar is also the recipient of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism's First Decade Award, given to an alum in recognition of contributions to the journalism profession during the first 10 years after graduation.
