LOIS VOSSEN is founding executive producer of Independent Lens on PBS. The series coproduces 20-30 feature documentaries, shorts, journalism videos and docuseries each season. It has received 27 Emmy, 28 Peabody, 10 duPont Columbia Awards, 10 Academy Award nominations, and the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2022 International Documentary Association Award for Best Series. Vossen served on the Television Academy Board of Governors and is on its DEIA Executive Committee and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She was Associate Managing Director of the Sundance Festival and Labs. Independent Lens documentaries include Philly DA, When Claude Got Shot, Space: The Longest Goodbye, Writing With Fire, One Child Nation, Belly of the Beast, I Am Not Your Negro, The Black Panthers, Newtown, TOWER, among many others.
