Brian Howey

Brian Howey is an investigative journalist whose reporting has inspired new police accountability laws in two states and prompted a Justice Department investigation into a Mississippi sheriff’s office that had terrorized local residents for decades. This year, Howey and his partner Nate Rosenfield will launch an independent investigative outlet focused on the contemporary use of torture in the criminal justice system, named The Bell Project.
