Ann M. Simmons is an award-winning journalist with expertise in Russia and the former Soviet empire. She currently serves as Executive Editor of Northeastern Global News, the award-winning website of Northeastern University in Boston. She was previously Moscow bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal, managing a team reporting on Vladimir Putin’s authoritarian regime and the Ukraine war. Ann first reported from Russia for TIME magazine in the 1990s, covering the demise of the USSR.
