Alex Horton

Alex Horton is a national security reporter for The Washington Post focused on the U.S. military. He has reported from around the world, including Ukraine’s front lines, Afghanistan and the Arctic. Before his journalism career, Alex served as an Army infantryman, including a 15-month combat tour in Iraq. He has shared three Pulitzer Prizes, most recently in 2025, and is a graduate of Georgetown University.
